Care Plans

I offer a selection of three main care plans, and a care plan designed with non-profit organizations in mind. These plans are pre-designed, but there is always room to discuss a custom care plan to suit your needs and budget.

All care plans come with database and file backups, monthly analytics reports, WordPress or Craft CMS core updates, and restoration in the event your site is hacked or stops working.

Detailed Breakdown of Care Plan Services

Backups

Under these care plans database and file updates are done weekly, these are short term backups that will be replaced by newer backups every four-week cycle. A monthly database and file backup will be completed and stored both on your server, and on a secure cloud service. These monthly backups will be maintained for 12 months, on a cycle. This means that January 2025 backups would be replaced by January 2026 backups.

Updates

WordPress and Craft both have core updates to expand new features, fix bugs, and patch security concerns. These updates are very important to keeping your site healthy and provide better protection from security risks.

Occasionally updates can cause incompatibilities and other bugs, therefor all core, plugin, and theme updates will be performed on a private development server first in order to test and verify functionality, and troubleshoot in order to minimize downtime of your site during updates.

Theme updates (if applicable) will be performed in line with plugin updates.

Care Plan Hours

The hours included in each care plan can be spent on the following:

• Graphic Design
• Content updates
  • New posts
  • Revisions posted content
  • Cropping and/or optimising of images/graphics
• Training
• Support
• Consultation
• Changes to design or layout - Must be feasible with the hours available

Any overage in the hours allowed under a specific care plan will be available to you at the discounted rate applicable to your plan. Hours that are not used in a month may be banked for up to 12 months and utilized for larger updates.

Link Checker

Content heavy sites that link to many sources both internally and externally can often end up with broken links as a result of content changing, moving around, or external sites changing. Broken links can hurt your SEO score, and are frustrating to users when navigating the site or trying to access information.

This check is provided quarterly and a report of any findings will be sent to you. There will be opportunity to decide on a course of action. This could be simply removing the link, or could be linking to a new source, and in some cases setting a redirect.

Security Optimization

Due to the popularity of the WordPress content management system, it has become more vulnerable to attack, Craft CMS is relatively secure, extra preventative steps can be taken to enhance security on your site on each platform.

Several configurations can be made to help increase security and prevent hacking, this service in the Electrum and Platinum care plans covers that. Please note that SSL certificates are not included in the cost of the care plan, but will cover implementation.

Site Audits and Report

Websites are not a set and forget deal. Content is added, removed, changed, Google changes how they determine page ranking, industry standards change. Sometimes uploaded content isn’t optimized properly for speed or accessibility.

This audit is intended to check for the overall performance of your site twice a year. A report will be provided and a course of action recommended if action needs to take place. The updates and changes can take place if you have monthly or banked hours available, or at a discounted hourly rate based on your care plan.

Cancellation Policy

The care plans can be cancelled at any time. Payment and service will end on the last day within the month of cancellation. Hours banked must be claimed within 30 days of cancellation.
